Epic Engineering.
Meet Vinny! For more than 35 years, Vincent “Vinny” Soviero has been a driving force behind Precision International’s growth, reputation, and industry-leading innovation. His journey with the company began in 1991, when his previous employer, Tramco, closed its doors. Faced with a crossroads, Vinny chose opportunity over uncertainty and joined Precision with a fire in his heart and a determination to leave his mark on an industry he had loved since childhood. That determination showed quickly. By 1995, just four years after his arrival, Precision promoted Vinny to Engineering Manager, entrusting him with one of the most pivotal tasks in the company’s history: assembling a powerhouse engineering team. Vinny approached the challenge with the same meticulous care and passion that would define his career. He hand-selected engineers who shared his drive and commitment and remarkably, that same tight-knit team, along with his indispensable assistant Stacy, continues to work side-by-side with him three decades later. Stacy, who began as Vinny’s right hand, soon became much more. Their partnership evolved from professional synergy into a lifelong bond, and today Vinny and Stacy celebrate 25 wonderful years of marriage, proving that sometimes the best engineering projects aren’t found in a tear down room, but built through love and shared dreams. As Precision’s Engineering and Technical Manager, Vinny oversees every facet of research and development, from designing products to enhancing extending coverage of existing ones. He sets the standards and specifications that guide the company’s quality control systems and maintains Precision’s ISO 9001 accreditation, managing both yearly surveillance audits and the critical three-year recertification process. With a keen eye for industry trends, Vinny identifies emerging needs before they hit the market, enabling Precision to deliver many of the first aftermarket solutions for highly sought-after transmission units. Vinny’s story begins far from the engineering world. Born in Augusta, Georgia, to newlywed parents stationed on an Army base, he soon moved with his family back to their Brooklyn roots and later to Massapequa on Long Island, where his love for cars truly ignited. As a boy, Vinny spent countless hours at his father’s side, watching, learning, and absorbing the art of mechanical problem-solving. Their bond grew even stronger when Vinny received his first car: a bright red 1962 Chevrolet Impala, the vehicle that sparked a lifelong love affair with classic automobiles. Restoring one just like it remains one of Vinny’s dream projects. Always driven by a strong desire and problem solving, Vinny pursued his passion academically, earning a degree in Automotive Engineering Technology from SUNY Farmingdale, followed by a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute. Armed with knowledge and fueled by ambition, he entered the industry with a clear vision and over the decades, he has exceeded it in every way. Today, Vinny is known throughout the transmission industry as a trusted innovator, a brilliant engineer, and his magnetic personality. Colleagues describe him as patient, understanding, and exceedingly loyal, qualities that reflect both his character and his leadership. Outside of work, Vinny continues to engineer moments of joy. He collects and builds Lionel model trains, tends to his impressive aquarium collection, and proudly roots for his beloved New York Mets. Whether at the office or at home, Vinny brings passion, creativity, and heart to everything he touches. Vinny is more than an essential member of the Precision International team; he is part of its foundation. His impact over the past 35 years has been woven into the company’s identity, its success, and the respect it receives throughout the industry. Precision is proud, honored, and incredibly fortunate to call him one of its own.
